National College for Teaching and Leadership panel hearing: Robert Roskelly
The incident considered by the panel took place some considerable time before Winstanley Community College came under the control and responsibility of the LiFE Multi-Academy Trust. The young people involved had left the school at the time. We can confirm that records at Winstanley show that swift and appropriate action was taken as soon as concerns were raised. An investigation was commissioned by the school and undertaken by the local authority whilst Mr Roskelly was suspended. Winstanley Community College and the LiFE Multi-Academy Trust support fully the outcome of the NCTL panel; Mr Roskelly should not be allowed to work in schools or with young people again. Safeguarding is the upmost priority of the school and the LiFE Multi-Academy Trust.
