Coronavirus COVID-19

letter to parents 13th May 2020

As we face the challenge of the spread of Coronavirus and the associated illness COVID-19, we have centralized all documents and letters with regards to this below:

Click here to complete the Key Workers form by 1pm on Friday, 20th March https://forms.gle/cop8fPyqPEWfmZRF7

As you are probably aware schools have been told by the Prime Minister that they should close from tomorrow.  If you are a key worker (ie NHS, carer, police, food supplier etc) we have been told to make some provision, but the advice around this is still not clear.  Please inform us ASAP if you fall into this category. From Monday students should be able to access home learning which will be set by their teachers.  Instructions on how to do this are on our website or can be viewed here. We will keep parents informed throughout the closure by email, text, weduc, our website and social media.

For Year 11 students it is still unclear what will happen about exams, but again we will keep parents and students notified when we have the relevant information. Exam boards do not know whether exams will take place or be delayed so Year 11 students are still advised to access online materials.

We also need to reiterate the guidance issued by the Prime Minister: If your child develops a new and persistent cough and/or a high temperature then they must now self-isolate for 14 days. In addition, the entire household will need to remain at home for 14 days from the first day of sickness of the first person. This also means that if anyone else in your household has displayed symptoms then you need to keep your child off school for 14 days from the first day of the person becoming sick. This information is now only relevant for students who have been informed that they may come to school based on the information above.
